Viola Cases

There are a a few different types of common cases for violas: dart style, hill style (oblong), and hard case (usually a type of polycarbonate case). Cases come in all price ranges and quality, but we encourage you to invest in a good case! Protect your investment!

    These cases are usually lightweight cases that don’t take up much space. Low cost cases for student instruments!

Dart style cases are great for those that want a case to take up as little space as possible. There are also options for fractional sized instruments. These are cost effective and there are lots of options.

GEWApure Dart Viola Case (G2-020) - $99.00

This is a basic case that has a polystyrene foam shell to reduce the weight. Also has a screw attached cover with a small music pouch. The sides and back are padded offering a suspension system for the instrument. Includes 2 sewn on backpack straps and only weighs in at 3.3 lbs! This is a good low cost option for younger students to reduce the weight of schlepping their violin around!

Available for 15” and 16.5” instruments. Please let us know which size you require!

Eastman Dart Violin Case (E2-075) - $149.00

This is a basic case that has a plywood shell covered in black canvas. This offers decent protection with a full pocket in the canvas. It sports a burgundy velour interior that allows the viola to have full suspension.

There are 2 bow spinners for bow storage, a detachable blanket, and shoulder straps. Available in 15”-15.5” and 16”-16.5” versions. This case is a perfect replacement for students!

GEWA Concerto Shaped Viola Case (G2-040) - $209.00

This is a nice shaped case that has a thermo shell with a padded suspension system and blanket. There are 2 bow holders and has a small accessory compartment. The cover is black and is screwed onto the case with 2 detachable rucksack backpack straps. Interior is a soft blue padding and this case weighs in at 4.4 lbs.

Available in 15”, 15.5”, 16”, and 16.5”.

Hill Style Oblong Cases

Oblong cases are probably the most common style case that you will see around. There are many different types and different price ranges. Contact us if there are any questions! There are some very attractive cases available to choose from as well.

Explorer Oblong Viola Case (E2-250) - $249.00

This is a basic case with an outer canvas cover. The case has a full pocket in the canvas. It sports a navy exterior/blue interior or black exterior/red interior. The case has full suspension.

There are 4! bow spinners for bow storage, a detachable blanket, and neck restraint. This case has a 10” lower bout space and 27” total length. This case weighs in at 6.9lbs.

GEWA Concerto Oblong Viola Case (G2-250) - $399.00

This is a nice hill style oblong case that has a thermo shell with a padded suspension system and blanket. There are 4 bow holders and has a small accessory compartment. The cover is black and is screwed onto the case with 2 detachable neoprene rucksack straps. The exterior also has a full sized music pocket. Interior is a soft blue velour and this case weighs in at 8 lbs.

This case has an adjustable interior 14 1/4” - 16 3/4”. The lower bout can fit instruments up to 10 3/8”.

Hard Cases

These cases have a hard exterior and without a cloth outer, it doesn’t absorb the the precipitation if you find yourself having to go through some weather regularly.

Basic thermoplastic oblong case that is well made with no extras to keep the price low! A great replacement case for student instruments and for school use. These have an aluminum valance and plush interior. Nothing fancy here! Just a straightforward hard shell case. Available in 15.5” and 16.5”.
