1972 Conn 88H Professional Trombone - $1,200.00

The Conn 88H is an industry standard that professionals have played for decades! Even today, players are still purchasing and using the Conn 88H made famous by Emory Remington at the Eastman School of Music. This particular one is well loved but still has lots of life left in it. It is an “R” series instrument which means that it was made in 1972. In 1972, Conn moved to Abilene, Texas from Elkhart, Indiana. The Elkhart era instruments are very desirable and have a bit of magic to them. Although this instrument was made in Abilene, it was made with many Elkhart parts and play pretty much identically to the Elkhart horns.

This instrument is in good operational condition and has no issues. The tuning slides both move without issue, the F valve is smooth and quick, and the hand slide is quick. The lacquer is quite worn out as one might expect from a horn that was used extensively since 1972. A patch was added to the bell throat as it had gotten very thin with past repairs. There are small dings throughout, but nothing that will affect how the horn plays.

This is the perfect instrument for a serious student that isn’t looking to spend a lot of money on a professional instrument. Would also be perfect for a professional to have a backup horn for the outdoor gigs they don’t want to bring their shiny new Shires/Edwards out!

Includes a serviceable Conn coffin case. Nothing special about the case. It works, and holds a horn. It isn’t pretty! Shipping is available at buyer’s expense. More pictures to be added soon!

Includes a Conn Remington mouthpiece in silver plate (original mouthpiece that was included with this instrument at the time).
